Update from the NCTM conference: Teachers are having FUN with FUNctions, developing interventional strategies for test anxiety, learning about applications of real world math, using Dr. Seuss to teach math, developing strategies for producing numerically nimble students, realizing the meaning of “rigor”, becoming doers of math, exploring multisensory algebra with proofs, using games and graphic organizers, and translating standards into learning. We look forward to their return to campus to write our math standards and implement these practices in our classrooms!
