Scholar–Athlete of the Week: Ben Myrick
Ben Myrick, a senior, is a member of the varsity football team and a member of the varsity boys’ tennis team.
Ben carries a 3.7 GPA and scored a 25 on the ACT. His favorite subject is History. When asked why this was his favorite subject, he comments, “Our teacher, Mr. Matt Ford, brings history to life. I enjoy learning how decisions and events in the past affect the present and future.”
When asked who has had the most impact on him both athletically, Ben says, “Coach Steven Graham. He’s a new addition to the coaching staff this year and he has helped me excel and mature as an athlete my senior season.” His most memorable athletic accomplishment was being named to the Anniston Star All-County team.
He is a member of the Knox Concert Service Committee, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Students, Marksmanship Club, Teenage Republicans Club and Spanish Club. He attends First Baptist Church in Talladega and is active in the youth group, is a music camp counselor and works during vacation bible school.
Ben is the son of Greg and Bethany Myrick. He is undecided about what college he plans to attend and about his major of choice.
Congratulations, Ben!
