At The Donoho Lower School, a well-qualified, creative, and dedicated faculty partner with parents and students to create a challenging and loving learning community for children in grades Pre-Kindergarten through six. From the moment our students begin their educational journey at Donoho, our students are being prepared for success in the middle grades and beyond in a developmentally appropriate learning environment where independence is practiced, friendships are nurtured, and becoming part of a learning community all complement academic growth.
While our website is a great place to learn about our school, we would love to have you visit campus to experience the Lower School for yourself. I’ll look forward to an opportunity to introduce you to The Donoho School!
Once a Falcon,
Always a Falcon!
Jean Swift Jaudon ‘78
Lower School Director
The Donoho School’s Lower School program places a high value on academic achievement while recognizing the developmental needs of children. Focusing on early literacy, math skills, and social development, our littlest Falcons are also introduced to school life through meaningful play that explores art, music, world languages, physical education, science, social studies, and trips to the playground and the library. In primary and intermediate grades, our core curriculum includes math, science, reading, grammar, history, foreign language, music, art, technology, and physical education. Study and organizational skills are emphasized alongside opportunities for direct instruction and structured investigation. At every level, we strive to provide our students a safe, nurturing environment that cultivates a love of learning, challenges students to stretch themselves, and encourages initiative, integrity, and creativity.
