Diana Thomson, a senior at The Donoho School, has been recognized for her outstanding achievement on the PSAT exam and has been named a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist. Semifinalists are the highest-scoring program participants in each state. Diana ranks in the top 1% of students 16,000 who will apply for status as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. She will have an opportunity to advance in the competition for some 8,200 Merit Scholarship awards.
To provide some indication of the effort and accomplishment of students who earn this distinction, there are over 1.3 million students in about 21,000 U.S. high schools who enter the National Merit Scholarship Program each fall, and only 50,000 of the highest-scoring entrants qualify for the program recognition.
Congratulations Diana!
