Concern for Others Day Program Change Announced

Our Concern for Others Day Food Collection Program has enjoyed great success through the years because of your commitment and continued support of the program.

Under the program, on the first Thursday of each month that school is in session, students have enjoyed an additional casual dress day if they donated two non-perishable food items (generally canned foods) to the Concern for Others Day Food Collection Program. The collected items are then provided to organizations within the community that provide assistance to those in need.

Recently we were asked to change the way we collect items. Rather than collecting any non-perishable food items, we have been asked to collect items from a list of specific needs; therefore, we have changed one requirement of the collection program. Rather than accepting any two non-perishable food items, we are now asking for one item from the list of needed items. This will require advance planning on the part of students wishing to take part in the program as the needs are very specific.

The items currently needed include the following:

Sugar Salt Any Spices Cream Soups Tomato Sauce
Soy Sauce Ranch Dressing Mayo Mustard Dales/Moores Seasoning
Canned Mushrooms Cooking Oils Pickle Relish Cleaning Supplies Paper Products
Lemon Juice Vinegar Kool-Aid Tuna Stove Top Stuffing
BBQ Sauce Sliced Bread Hot Dog Buns Hamburger Buns

Our next Concern for Others Day Food Collection is this Thursday, March 1, 2012. We hope you will continue to support the program as you have in the past because the need is so great within our community.
