The Donoho Varsity Scholars Bowl teams captured its third state championship Tuesday in Montgomery, joining the teams from 2019 and 2023. The team, composed of Alex Gilliland, Olivia Nix, Chris Perkins, David Robles, JR Sobers, and Cash Worley, defeated Eastwood Christian School (400-70), Houston Academy (320-240), and Faith Academy (340-160) in pool play. In the elimination rounds, they defeated Patrician Academy (300-180) and Lakeside School (310-200) before dominating Houston Academy (340-170) in a rematch in the final. David Robles and Alex Gilliland were both named to the 2025 All-State Team.
