The board of directors, president, faculty and staff of the school express our deepest condolences to the family of Mr. William H. “Burt” Fargason. Mr. Fargason served as headmaster of The Anniston Academy and The Donoho School from 1971-1986. During his tenure, facilities were added to include the math and science wing of the academic building, the cafetorium, and the Thomas S. Potts, Sr., lower school and middle school building. Mr. Fargason was instrumental in the merger of the Episcopal Day School of Grace Episcopal Church with The Anniston Academy in 1976 as well as the renaming of the school to recognize the school’s major benefactress, Mrs. Harriet W. Donoho. Mr. Fargason’s tenure was characterized by maintaining the high academic standards set forth in the school’s mission and reflected the importance of financial stability for future generations to come.
