Donoho 50th Birthday Gala – We need your help!

We are quickly approaching our April 27th Donoho Gala celebration and there is still a need for quality items for our silent auction area. If you, or anyone you know, would be willing to donate or assist with donating any of the following items, please contact me or Sally Haynes, DPA President with details. The acquisition form can be downloaded and printed from HERE.

  • Condos, beach houses, lake homes – please include how many days/nights and if there are restrictions and any cleaning fees to be paid.
  • Art work (large or small; not limited to paintings.)
  • Jewelry pieces.
  • Parents/Grandparents that own their business which can provide a service or donate an item.
  • Gift Certificates or Gift Cards for dinner for 2 or 4. Several parents could go in together to cover the entire cost of the meal. Several years ago, we did this with restaurants from Birmingham like Hot & Hot Fish Club, Highland’s, Bottega and Flemings. We even rented a limo for a certain number of hours so it was a “complete” package evening. This might work well for those grades at the LS that have 2 classes….one could cover dinner/one the limo!
  • Donoho items – Donoho themed pieces like pails, buckets, tubs, garbage cans, clipboards, blankets, sweatshirts, T-shirts, either painted or embroidered. All things Donoho will go directly on our bidding web site (a new addition to our event this year) well ahead of the Gala and not on a table at the event itself!
  • Gift Baskets – several parents can go in together to create an ultimate themed gift basket.
  • Alabama/Auburn items – with our love of collegiate football and the rivalry between these instate teams, these items always do well in the auction.

Helping with acquisitions is an awesome way to be involved with the auction and ensure its success in raising funds for the DPA to purchase those extra items our tuition just can’t cover…..such as athletic needs, drama enhancements, instruments and music for band and choir, signage, landscaping, playground improvements and much, much more. Of course, we will also need assistance on the day of the Gala for setup, decorating, guest arrival, spotters, auction check-out, and clean-up.

Thank you so much for any assistance you can provide in making this event a true success for Donoho, our DPA, but primarily for our students. Feel free to contact me to donate or volunteer, if you have any questions or would like to make suggestions.
