Donna Plunkett recently attended “Hooray for Herps,” a workshop about reptiles in Alabama sponsored by Legacy, Environmental Education Association of Alabama, and ALAPARC. She was updated on current research in the region from a herpetologist, gained hands-on experience with live animals, and learned many new classroom activities relating to the animals, habitat and conservation. She received a variety of teaching materials, including Learning through Legacy: Alabama’s Environmental Education Guide, Legacy’s WaterSource Book, Peterson’s Field Guide to Reptiles and Amphibians, Hands-on Herpetology, many posters from Legacy and other wildlife organizations, and CD’s.
