Scholar-Athlete of the Week: Parker Morgan
Junior Parker Morgan is a linebacker and guard for the varsity football team and a member of the varsity basketball and baseball teams.
Parker carries a 3.7 GPA and scored a 29 on the ACT. His favorite subject is history. When asked why this was his favorite subject, he comments, “It is very interesting to me to learn about past events and cultures, comparing them to today.”
He plans to attend either the University of Mississippi or Auburn University, but is undecided on a college major or future career plans.
He is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, FCA/FCS, Science Club, Knox Concert Series, Junior National Honor Society, and is treasurer of the Spanish Club. He is also involved in the youth group at Golden Springs Baptist Church.
Parker is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Gary Morgan and brother to Windham (’07), Maggie (’09) and Garrison (’11). When asked who was his greatest influence, he says, “My dad has had the greatest influence on me to always do my best in academics as well as athletics. He has always been there to encourage me and to teach me any necessary skills for athletics.”
