The lower school science team finished first at the Elementary Science Olympiad on Saturday, February 18. This was the nineteenth Olympiad, hosted each year by Jacksonville High School. The team from Donoho medaled in twenty of the twenty-eight events to bring home the first place trophy. Thirty teams from across central Alabama participated in this year’s event, including schools from Montgomery and the Birmingham area. Team members include Hamza Abdul-Ghani, Sarah Abdul-Ghani, Bryant Barrentine, Hall Billings, Trevor Crow, Olivia Davis, Savannah Frickey, Mac Love, Grayson Marlowe, Will Nelson, Yash Patel, James Perry, Shelley Phillips, Zaurayze Rehman, Pearl Simmons, Charlie Smith, Cruz Skinner, Blake Steed, Jenna Stremmel, Madelyn Thompson, Abby Ulrey, Cory van Ekris, Tori Waldrop, and Kent Yamamuro. The team has been sponsored by Mrs. Donna Plunkett since its inception.
