Congratulations to Samantha Strunk on being this year’s 2016 Alabama Girls State Samsung Scholar! The Samsung Scholarship Award was established in 1996 and has two requirements: the applicant must be a high school junior who attended the current session of The Auxilary Girls State program along with being a direct descendant of a U.S. Veteran. In order to receive this scholarship, the applicant must answer questions such as what their biggest accomplishment in life is, all the way to the applicant’s future plans. Each state sends two award winners to compete at the national level for the scholarships, and applications are revised and rated upon to see who is the most deserving. We are very proud of Samantha for competing on this national level. Congratulations, Samantha!
