We are so proud of Daphne Mobley Johnston ‘95 as one of the 2024 inductees into the Sport Hall of Fame of Calhoun County this weekend.
As Daphne Mobley, she was a stellar athlete in two sports at Donoho – volleyball and basketball. She had phenomenal years in both while in high school. Then she continued her career in playing volleyball at LaGrange College, starting all four years. She was inducted into the LaGrange College Sports Hall of Fame in 2019. Congratulations to Daphne for being inducted into the Calhoun County Sports Hall of Fame on June 15, 2024.
Daphne was The Donoho School’s Outstanding Alumna of the Year in 2016 for her work as the founder and director of The Respite Ministry, a day program for those with early to mild dementia. Since she started this in 2012 where she lives in Montgomery, it has grown to having currently 27 Respite for All (RFA) communities in six states, including 13 locations in Alabama, with more in the works. The Respite for All Foundation seeks to be part of the community-based response to a growing global need, providing support for caregivers along with social and recreational opportunities that reduce the isolation of those living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
