Rising senior, Ansley Simmons attended Alabama Girls State at Troy University, where female students are competitively selected and sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary units. They learn about the political process by electing officials for all levels of state government and actively running a mock government.Ansley was awarded the Good Citizens Award and shares that she has enjoyed meeting girls with different views and personalities the most. She says, “It’s amazing to see so many young people invested in our state. and it makes her want to strive for even more!” We are so proud of Ansley for representing Donoho; she has our vote!
