The Donoho School selects an Outstanding Alumnus/Alumna of the Year annually to recognize a graduate who has distinguished themselves through achievements since graduating from Donoho. Past recipients have excelled in business, academia, medicine, and service. All of our recipients epitomize the values of our mission, and we are very proud to announce the 2021 Outstanding Alumnus of the Year, Dr. David P. King, ‘97.
While at Donoho, David excelled in academics as the Valedictorian and member of National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Scholars’ Bowl, and many other club involvements. He was on the varsity football, basketball, and golf teams all four years. David was also selected as Outstanding Junior Boy, Youth Leadership Calhoun County representative, and DAR Good Citizen.
After Donoho, David attended Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama where he graduated in 2001 with a B.A. in History. He then attended Duke Divinity School at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, graduating in 2004 with his Master of Divinity. David received his Ph.D. in Religious Studies in 2012 at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
